And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind

  7. 69:7

    سَخَّرَهَاعَلَيْهِمْسَبْعَلَيَالٍۢوَثَمَـٰنِيَةَأَيَّامٍحُسُومًۭافَتَرَىٱلْقَوْمَفِيهَاصَرْعَىٰكَأَنَّهُمْأَعْجَازُنَخْلٍخَاوِيَةٍۢ٧

  34. 69:34

    وَلَايَحُضُّعَلَىٰطَعَامِٱلْمِسْكِينِ٣٤

wa laa yahuddu 'alaa ta'aamil miskeen

    فَلَيْسَلَهُٱلْيَوْمَهَـٰهُنَاحَمِيمٌۭ٣٥

    Falaysa lahul yawma haahunaa hameem

    وَلَاطَعَامٌإِلَّامِنْغِسْلِينٍۢ٣٦

Wa laa ta'aamun illaa min ghisleen

    Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds;

  37. 69:37

    لَّايَأْكُلُهُۥٓإِلَّاٱلْخَـٰطِـُٔونَ٣٧

    Laa yaakuluhooo illal khati'oon

None will eat it except the sinners.

  38. 69:38

    فَلَآأُقْسِمُبِمَاتُبْصِرُونَ٣٨

    Falaaa uqsimu bimaa tubsiroon

So I swear by what you see

  39. 69:39

    وَمَالَاتُبْصِرُونَ٣٩

    Wa maa laa tubsiroon

And what you do not see

  40. 69:40

    إِنَّهُۥلَقَوْلُرَسُولٍۢكَرِيمٍۢ٤٠

    Innahoo laqawlu Rasoolin kareem

[That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger.

  41. 69:41

    وَمَاهُوَبِقَوْلِشَاعِرٍۢ ۚقَلِيلًۭامَّاتُؤْمِنُونَ٤١

Wa ma huwa biqawli shaa'ir; qaleelam maa tu'minoon

And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe.

  42. 69:42

    وَلَابِقَوْلِكَاهِنٍۢ ۚقَلِيلًۭامَّاتَذَكَّرُونَ٤٢

Wa laa biqawli kaahin; qaleelam maa tazakkaroon

Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember.

  43. 69:43

    تَنزِيلٌۭمِّنرَّبِّٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ٤٣

    Tanzeelum mir rabbil 'aalameen

[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

  44. 69:44

    وَلَوْتَقَوَّلَعَلَيْنَابَعْضَٱلْأَقَاوِيلِ٤٤

Wa law taqawwala 'alainaa ba'dal aqaaweel

And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings,

  45. 69:45

    لَأَخَذْنَامِنْهُبِٱلْيَمِينِ٤٥

    La-akhaznaa minhu bilyameen

    We would have seized him by the right hand;

  46. 69:46

    ثُمَّلَقَطَعْنَامِنْهُٱلْوَتِينَ٤٦

    Summa laqata'naa minhul wateen

Then We would have cut from him the aorta.

  47. 69:47

    فَمَامِنكُممِّنْأَحَدٍعَنْهُحَـٰجِزِينَ٤٧

    Famaa minkum min ahadin'anhu haajizeen

And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him.

  48. 69:48

    وَإِنَّهُۥلَتَذْكِرَةٌۭلِّلْمُتَّقِينَ٤٨

    Wa innahoo latazkiratul lilmuttaqeen

And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous.

  49. 69:49

    وَإِنَّالَنَعْلَمُأَنَّمِنكُممُّكَذِّبِينَ٤٩

Wa inna lana'lamu anna minkum mukazzibeen

And indeed, We know that among you are deniers.

  50. 69:50
